Weekend Results
It was a busy Saturday for Coolmines senior squads with all three in competitive league action. A great 15-34 win over Kilkenny away for our 1st XV. A 10-16 defeat for Newbridge against Enniscorthy puts Coolmine one point ahead on top of the table with only one game remaining. This also puts the Ashbrook side in control of their own destiny. They face Tullow on the 7th of March at home and a bonus point win would secure the title. Newbridge face Garda in Westmanstown the same day and depending on the result of this game another 4 points might be enough. An anxious watchful eye will be kept on both matches by supporters.
Not such good news for our seconds as they went down 31-14 to Kilkenny. They drop back to 3rd place and with only 1 game left their chances of completing a historic third league title in a row have been dashed.
A 43-7 victory for the 3rds at home over Blackrock keeps them in second place 3 points behind Old Belvedere. With two games to go the league title is still within their grasp. Photos featured are from the 3rds game.
