Warrington Visit

Coolmine played host last Saturday to English touring side Warrington on their second visit to Ireland in the space of three years. The entire entourage consisting of players, coaches and parents totalled nearly 250 fielding teams from the age groups of U7’s up to U17’s. They began their trip early Good Friday morning boarding their fleet of coaches for the journey to Holyhead for the short ferry trip across the Irish sea. They began arriving into Ashbrook from 10:30 am and all games were played to a very high standard. With everyone fed and watered many of Coolmine’s players headed off to the Aviva for the much anticipated Heineken cup semi final between Leinster and Cardiff. Warrington retired back to the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel on the Naas Road and were looking forward to dinner in Captain Americas that evening. Sunday offered another day of rugby thanks to Malahide RFC with Monday left free for some sightseeing before their late departure that evening for home. Photo features both sides U13’s team.
